revolutionary research tool for monitoring competitor price data of UK
package holidays.

Competitor Price Monitoring
At the moment, UK tour operators rely heavily on informal market data
and headline discount comparisons but have very limited visibility of the
competitive price position of individual packages. "On launch” brochure
price comparisons are instantly outdated as competitor tour operators
adjust and update their prices to reflect market conditions. This
results in pricing decisions being made that are not using the same
“information” that is used by the customer for their buying decision with
consumers using the web as their own competitor price tool.

PriceTag is an easy to use Web based research tool that provides relevant
and accurate pricing comparisons. The simple 3 stage process works
as follows:
1. You set-up a "basket definition" of
the specific tour operator packages that you wish to compare.
2. You define the "shopping frequency"
setting how often you wish to check prices.
3. The basket is "shopped" and price
data gathered is loaded into the Results Viewer.
At anytime, you can adjust the basket
definition and shopping frequency to carry out instant comparison checks.
How it Works
PriceTag's price search mechanism is powered by Multicom, a leading
provider of availability and booking services for the UK travel sector. Multicom's technology interrogates viewdata and XML feeds of leading tour
operators gathering the precise price data you need. Searchable tour
operators include Airtours, Cosmos, Crystal, First Choice, Inghams, Kosmar,
Libra Panorama, Thomas Cook, Thomson and Virgin Holidays.
The service is web based and therefore
requires no set-up or involvement from internal IT. Also, results can be
viewed via the web interface or downloaded into Excel/Access or a data
warehouse.
